On May 30 Stockdale hosted the biggest day on its high school calendar. The Iowa State High School Clay Target League brought its state tournament to Ackley, with 172 athletes from across the state on the line. Buses rolled in at sunup, the Marines set up by the line, and the grounds stayed full from the opening ceremony through the last award. One of the largest youth shoots Iowa runs, and it went off clean from the first shot to the final patch.
